Nearly every Amazon receipt lives in the same place: Your Orders. This works on the website and in the app, and it covers physical items, digital purchases, and most subscriptions.
- Sign in to amazon.com or open the Amazon app.
- Go to Your Orders (under Account on the site, or the menu in the app).
- Find the order by scrolling, searching the item name, or filtering by year.
- Select Invoice or Order Details, then View or Print this invoice.
The invoice is the itemized receipt you actually want: it lists every item, the tax, shipping, and the order total. The order confirmation email Amazon sends is handy, but it is usually a summary, so reach for the invoice when something official is on the line.
Tip: On a computer, opening the invoice and choosing Print lets you "Save as PDF" instead of printing paper. That PDF is perfect for an expense report or your tax folder.
Method 2: Print an Amazon invoice for taxes or expenses
If you need a clean copy for accounting, the printable invoice is the gold standard.
- Open Your Orders and find the order.
- Choose Invoice, then View or Print this invoice (sometimes labeled Printable Order Summary).
- Print it or save it as a PDF.
For business purchases, the invoice shows the billing details and tax you need to support a tax write-off or expense claim. If you bought through an Amazon Business account, you usually get extra options like downloadable invoices and order reports under Business Analytics or the Reports area, which is built for exactly this.
Method 3: Gift receipts and digital orders
Amazon handles a few special cases a little differently, but they all start from Your Orders.
- Gift receipts: If you sent a gift, open the order and look for the gift receipt or packing slip option. If you received one, the gift receipt that came in the box (or the gift link) lets you return or exchange without seeing the price.
- Digital purchases: Kindle books, apps, music, and video show under Your Orders, and often under Digital Content or Memberships and Subscriptions. Amazon also emails a receipt for most digital buys.
- Subscriptions and Prime: Recurring charges like Prime or Subscribe and Save appear in your order history and under Memberships and Subscriptions, where you can view past charges.
Business vs personal Amazon accounts
This trips people up constantly. If you have both a personal account and an Amazon Business account tied to similar emails, an order will only show in the account that placed it. If you cannot find a receipt, sign out and sign back in with the other account before assuming it is gone. Business accounts also let admins pull consolidated invoices and spending reports, which is the easiest path if you are reconciling many orders at once.

- Returned or canceled item? The invoice still shows in your history, often with the refund noted, so you can still print proof of the original purchase.
